Pre-alarming Mechanism of Logistic Industrial Damages Formally Launched

With the aim of maintaining domestic industrial safety, improving China’s international competetiveness of logistics, and promoting a sooner and better development of logistics, MOFCOM, China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing formally launched the Pre-alarming Mechanism of Logistics Industrial Damages on July 2, 2008.

Assistant Minister of Commerce Lu Jianhua expressed at the launching ceremony that China’s logistic industry has developed rapidly over recent years. The national social logistic value totaled RMB 75.2 trillion yuan in 2007 with the added value of RMB 1.7 trillion yuan, 3.8 times and 2.3 times that of 2001, respectively. The fixed asset investment of logistics grew quickly, the state-owned, non-public and foreign capital have jointly developed, the logistic infrastructure conditions are improving continuously, and the third party logistic enterprises have further developed.

Lu stressed that all the departments concerned and pre-alarming experts should attach great importance to the pre-alarming work on the logistics industrial damages. By relying on the expert team, improve the quality of pre-alarming analysis, ensure that the inspecting statistics are scientific, accurate and complete, gradually enlarge the monitoring scale, promote the analytic scope and depth, so as to ensure that the said mechanism is constructed to provide actual and practical services for enterprises, the entire industry as well as China’s industrial security.

By far, MOFCOM has set up the said mechanism in 10 industries such as autombile, steel, fertilizer, textile, electronic information, etc.
